Chicago man arrested on child pornography charges

Authorities say they’ve arrested a Chicago man on child pornography charges after finding 2,500 images and videos on his computer — some of which were of children as young as 1-year-old.

In a news release, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart’s office says investigators arrested 51-year-old Seamus Webb without incident on Thursday. Investigators executed a search warrant at Webb’s apartment that was based on a tip from the FBI. The release says Webb has been charged with felony counts of various child pornography charges and seized from his apartment computers and other items.

According to the release, Webb admitted to detectives that he possessed and distributed child pornography. Webb appeared in court Friday morning, and a judge set bail at $100,000.
