Plainfield man charged in Naperville sex abuse case

A 19-year-old Plainfield man has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 13-year-old female family friend in Naperville, authorities said Monday.

Jonathan Fogelman, 19, of the 13100 block of Merganser Cove, turned himself in to Naperville police on Saturday. He was formally charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of possession of child pornography.

Sgt. Lou Cammiso said the victim’s family came to police in December to report at least one case of sexual abuse. Will County court records indicate an offense occurred last August.

Investigators later found an image of the victim on Fogelman’s cellphone, Cammiso said.

Police said Fogelman’s arrest was the result of an investigation by the department’s youth and social services investigation unit.

Following his arrest, Fogelman was transferred to Will County jail where he was being held on $250,000 bail.
