Arrests made in summer gas station robbery

Two men were arrested this week in connection with the July 2012 armed robbery of a gas station in an unincorporated area near Deerfield, authorities said Friday.

Michael Swanson, 19, of the 100 block of Wilshire Drive in Wheeling, and Irvin Vaysburg, 19, of the 1000 block of Sheridan Road in Buffalo Grove, were charged Thursday with armed robbery after warrants were obtained for their arrest, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

The armed robbery occurred July 2, 2012, at the Speedway station at 1010 Milwaukee Ave. near Deerfield.

Authorities from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Wheeling Police Department to obtain the warrants.

Each suspect’s bond was set at $250,000. Swanson is scheduled to appear in court March 25, and Vaysburg is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
