Bodies found in fire-damaged Chicago apartment

Associated Press

Authorities in Chicago are investigating the deaths of two women who were stabbed before the building they were in was set on fire.

Firefighters found the women’s bodies Wednesday in a bathroom of the burning apartment building in the Chatham neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side.

Authorities say both 24-year-old Curtria Duncan and 42-year-old Cherie Adams were stabbed multiple times. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fire department spokesman Larry Langford says the fire was deliberately set but was quickly extinguished.

Chicago Police officials are investigating the deaths as homicides.
