Candidate's Key Issues
Key Issue 1
If I were elected Trustee to fulfill the four-year unexpired term on the DuPage Regional Board of Education my primary focus will be
to reduce inconsistent school district boundaries in order to foster the development of more naturally occurring neighborhoods for school children who can benefit from consistent relationships with their peers from the school playground to their after-school and summer programs.

Secondly, I will support taxpayer choice in public education while making school boards and school administrators accountable to the taxpayers

Finally, with our recent plateau in school attendance and growth, it is the right time to ensure that our schools operate effectively and efficiently for all families. To that end I would look at ways to reduce costs in delivering educational services including capital facilities and transportation

Why are you the best candidate for this position?
I am the best candidate for two reasons: I am a Hinsdale native with roots in DuPage County. I have two small children who will soon enter the Downers Grove Township school system. I meet and talk with local parents (tax payers) on a regular basis and as a result I have a good understanding of individual school district report cards, boundary lines and social and developmental statistics. My observation is that district boundary lines do impact our children's ability to develop both socially and scholastically. I believe that our children are our greatest asset and to provide them with the best education will create opportunities for them to achieve a successful future. In conclusion, I have the scholastic aptitude to evaluate all information and research as it relates to the detachment and annexation cases brought to this board while I also have my pulse on the tax payers who have children in the school system because I do too. I have the cumulative knowledge and experience to do right by the tax payers and for our children.
