Township government as we now have is a duplication of services. More of the budget should be spent on services for youth, seniors and actual public works and less money on salaries, pensions and healthcare for the officials.

In the 21st Century, with municipalities gobbling up vacant land, why are townships needed? Should they be serving a new role? If so, what?
Good point. The current budget suggests that citizens in Elmhurst and other municipalities are subsidizing the services for unincorporated DuPage County. Municipalities or the county should administer the services and we should reduce or eliminate the township levy.

In these hard economic times, can you identify some township expenses/programs that could be trimmed or eliminated to reduce the tax burden?
Eliminate pensions and healthcare for these part-time officials and transfer some of the administrative functions and costs to county or local municipalities.
What specific background or experience do you bring that makes you the best qualified candidate to serve as an elected official in the township?
I have an MBA degree from my days working in a bank. For 25 years I have been self-employed and know how to stretch a dollar.
