St. Charles taking entries for St. Patrick’s Parade

The St. Patrick’s Parade entry deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 20. The parade is now under the Downtown St. Charles Partnership, not Pride of the Fox or the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce as in years past.

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is now accepting entries to the parade, which will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, along Main Street, from Sixth Street to Fourth Avenue. Entries for the parade are sought from businesses and nonprofit organizations.

The St. Patrick’s Parade, an annual event, is under the direction of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership, which also organizes the annual Electric Christmas Parade.

Organizations and businesses that wish to participate must complete an entry form, obtain a certificate of insurance, sign off on the rules and regulations, and return the documents along with the appropriate entrance fee, if required, to the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office no later than Wednesday, Feb. 20.

The entry fee is $250 for businesses, $125 for DSCP members, and free for nonprofit entries. Documents are available on the event webpage, www.downtownstcharles.org/stpats.

Past entries have included bands, Irish dancers, authentic Irish music, floats, school groups, preschools, service clubs, and more.

For more information, visit www.DowntownStCharles.org, call the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office at (630) 443-3967, or email info@downtownstcharles.org.

More than 30 volunteers ages 13 and older are needed for the parade. This fun event is a great way for people to give back to their community, earn volunteer hours, and gain experience working with others. Those with interest can go to the St. Patrick’s parade webpage and complete a volunteer form.
