Township is a little warmer this winter

Schaumburg Township would like to extend a warm and tremendously deserving thank you to the community for their generosity and thoughtfulness toward the township and the families we assisted, this past holiday season.

During the season of giving and receiving, Schaumburg Township was fortunate to be on both ends of this spectrum. Donors generously gave food to keep the pantry shelves, refrigerators and freezers well stocked during our busiest months. Coats, hats, gloves & scarves, purchased and handmade, were donated to help keep children warm this winter season.

Substantial financial contributions were received to help keep the pantry in full operation throughout the new year. Toys for all ages were delivered for distribution to families requesting assistance. The Adopt-A-Family program also made the holidays a little brighter for more than 420 families, seniors and disabled individuals.

To the 100 sponsors who participated in the Adopt A Family program, we can't thank you enough for the shopping, wrapping and delivery of the presents! To all the volunteers who shared their energy, time and talents; we thank you for offering us a helping hand this season.

With the collaboration of businesses, schools, libraries, clubs, churches, individuals, families, hardworking volunteers and staff, Schaumburg Township provided food to over 500 households throughout December. Without the community involvement, all of this would not be possible. To name each and every one would fill this page, so please pat yourself on the back if you recognized the need in the community and made an effort to help your neighbors during the holidays.

We thank you and we wish everyone in our community good health and happiness in the New Year!
