Ticket for parking on own driveway?

Ticket for parking on own driveway?

We have lived in our house for 31 years. Just within the year we have found out that we cannot park on the approach of our driveway. We live on a cul-de-sac and our house has a single car garage with a single driveway which has to provide enough room for four cars to park in, as my husband, myself and our two daughters each have a car.

Living in a cul-de-sac does not provide too much extra parking to begin with especially when there are seven other households that we have to share parking spots with.

Then filter in the fact that if we park in one of the few spots available the mail will not be delivered to two of the neighbors as the vehicle is too close to their mailboxes adding to the frustration of not being able to park in the approach of our driveway, the approach that we are responsible for to shovel in the winter and pay taxes on throughout the 31 years.

I guess the only person that has no complaints to this frustration is the police officer that has the time to drive by or has nothing better to do in his/her day and write a ticket to a vehicle that is not blocking the sidewalk or hanging out in the street that would be a hazard to anyone or another vehicle.

It's just parked on the approach of its owners driveway but then again it is an easy ticket for a cop to write especially on a non-moving vehicle.
