• Everardo Saavedra-Rodriguez, 48, of the 700 block of East Chicago Street, Elgin, was charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence, driving without a valid driver's license and leaving the scene of an accident involving vehicle damage, court records show. Saavedra-Rodriguez was arrested Monday after the vehicle he was driving was involved in an accident at Villa and St. Charles street, court records show. His bail was set at $25,000 Tuesday and is next due in Kane County court Jan. 29.

• Nothing reportedly was stolen after two men broke into a house just before 10 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of West Chicago Street, Elgin, police reports said. A renter who lived in the basement called the homeowner to report the incident. The homeowner came home and reported the incident to police.

McHenry County

• Two Woodstock residents were arrested on drug-related charges as part of an undercover investigation Thursday, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. The probe turned up 475 grams of marijuana, a pipe, a drug scale, packaging material and $440 in cash. The street value of the drugs is approximately $8,300, police said. Cesar Flores, 20, of the 600 block of Barbary Lane and an unnamed 18-year-old man from Woodstock were arrested and charged in the case, according to a police report. Flores was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The 18-year-old was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana. Both were arrested in the 1200 block of East Lake Street after police saw them conducting a narcotics transaction, police said. Bail was set Tuesday at $25,000 for Flores and at $20,000 for the 18-year-old.

Kane County

• Former tenants of a home in the 9N700 block of Whispering Springs Lane near Elgin are suspected of damaging drywall and littering the home with beer cans and cigarette butts sometime between Dec. 31 and Thursday, according to a sheriff's report.
