Medical records don’t belong on Internet

Today I received an email from “mymedicare-administration.” It gave a birthday greeting and then a calendar for the coming year. Each month listed the date of my last medical procedure, the specific procedure, for example “pelvic exam, colorectal screen, laboratory tests,” etc. Very personal medical information. The calendar instructed me to take advantage of my wellness opportunities and to “assist” me in scheduling my exams for the coming year.

About two years ago the Obama administration paid physicians a bonus of thousands of dollars to put this information online. Hopefully everyone who voted for President Obama will enjoy having their private medical care shared and managed in this manner. I personally am outraged.
