4 charged with murder of pair in Joliet

Will County authorities say four people, including a son of Joliet police sergeant, are charged with murder after luring two men to a house, robbing and strangling them.

Joliet Police Chief Mike Trafton said that after the murders Thursday, the suspects “continued the party atmosphere” and played video games until they were surprised by the arrival of police.

Charged Friday with first-degree murder were 19-year-old Adam Landerman, Alisa Massaro and Bethany McKee, both 18, and 24-year-old Joshua Miner. The four are being held in lieu of $10 million bail.

Joliet police identified the victims as 22-year-old Erick Glover and 22-year-old Terrence Rankins.

The Will County coroner’s office determined someone used their hands to strangle both victims. Police didn’t name the strangler, or give a motive other than robbery.
