A former Addison man already serving time in a state prison for sexually assaulting a child has been sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for producing and receiving child pornography.
Donald Anderson, 47, was sentenced this week to the maximum terms of 30 years for producing child pornography and 20 years for receiving child pornography, officials announced Friday.
U.S. District Judge Joan Gottschall ordered the sentences be served consecutively with a 16-year state sentence Anderson already is serving for predatory criminal sexual abuse of a minor.
Anderson must serve at least 85 percent of his federal sentence before he is eligible for release, officials said. There is no parole in the federal prison system.
Authorities said the federal charges were filed against Anderson in 2009 after he was convicted and sentenced in state court. He pleaded guilty to the federal charges in April.
Anderson's state conviction was based on his 2007 sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl. After learning about that assault, law enforcement officials discovered Anderson in 1997 had raped an 8-year-old girl in his home while he was living in Addison.
Authorities said that sexual abuse, which Anderson videotaped, formed the basis of the federal child pornography production charge.
In 2007, Anderson was living in Park Forest when authorities recovered thousands of images and videos of child pornography during a search of his home.
