Police release images from Waukegan bank robbery

Waukegan police released surveillance images Friday of a man they say robbed a bank inside a Jewel store a day earlier.

Police said the man passed a note to a bank teller just before noon Thursday at the TCF Bank inside the Jewel at 922 N. Green Bay Road and left with about $1,000.

Authorities believe the thief, who is still at large, might be responsible for a recent robbery at a TCF Bank in Zion.

The suspect was described as a black man, approximately 5’5” to 5’7” tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark blue puffy winter coat, black jeans, Nike Jordan tennis shoes, and a red Chicago Bulls hat. Police said the suspect lost his hat as he fled the scene Thursday.

Those with information are asked to contact Waukegan police at (847) 662-2222 or the FBI at (847) 290-0525.
