Night life: Drink in Santa’s Magic

Santa’s Magic

Santa Claus isn’t just coming to town; he already arrived at Mickey Finn’s. Santa’s Magic — a Belgian strong ale — is now on tap for the unforeseeable future. Santa’s Magic smells fruity and spicy and includes hints of honey and dark Belgian candy sugar. Compared to a Chimay or Duvel, Santa’s Magic has some interesting powers, so don’t overdo. Pints are $7.

Mickey Finn’s Brewery, 412 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. (847) 362-6688 or mickeyfinnsbrewery.com.

Fizz Night

Bring on the bubbles at L’Eiffel Bistrot’s Fizz Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. For $30 per person, enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres and lowest prices by the bottle or case. Tastings include Piper Heidsieck, Henriot, Rose Laurent Perrier, Perrier Jouet and Dom Pérignon.

L’Eiffel Bistrot, 100 W. Higgins Road, South Barrington. (847) 428-4783 or leiffelbistrot.com.

Good drinks, too

Topaz Cafe might be a Michelin-recommended restaurant, but its lounge drink specials are nothing to sniff at either. On Sundays, bring your own wine for no corkage fee or enjoy half off in the lounge bar. On Mondays, enjoy $3 domestic beers and half off the bar menu in the lounge. Tuesdays offer half off a specialty wine list. On Wednesdays, get chips and salsa with $5 margaritas and $3 Coronas. Thursdays are Ladies’ Night with $5 martinis.

Topaz Cafe, 780 Village Center Drive, Burr Ridge. (630) 654-1616 or topazcafe.com.
