B.R. Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn has annual Christmas tree sale

B.R. Ryall YMCA’s Christmas tree lot is open for the season at 49 Deicke Drive, Glen Ellyn, with proceeds supporting B.R. Ryall’s annual campaign.

The campaign allows the Y to provide membership and program scholarships to children, families and seniors in need in the community.

“Receiving a scholarship from the B.R. Ryall YMCA makes is possible for my family to have a safe, enjoyable outlet for physical activity, as well as a place to build new, positive connections within the community,” said a widowed mother of three teenage boys, a Y scholarship recipient. “Having access to all that the B.R. Ryall YMCA has to offer will provide us with opportunities that, until now, have been beyond our means.”

The B.R. Ryall YMCA of Northwestern DuPage County has been running a Christmas tree lot for more than 12 years. About 500 trees are sold, raising around $20,000 annually. The Christmas tree sale is the Y’s largest single fundraiser of the year and helps the Y carry out its mission of keeping the Y available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

The sale continues through Monday, Dec. 24, and hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays, 5:30 to 9 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 24.
