Cemetery walk turns back time

Learn about Round Lake area history and meet some of its early settlers during a historic cemetery walk and ride at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Costumed characters will greet participants at four locations. The bus tour begins at the Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center, off Hook Drive west of Route 83, with stops at East Fox Lake Cemetery, the Old H & H Hardware store location on Cedar Lake Road, Alpine Country Club and the Hendee Farm location on the north end of Round Lake. The tour returns to the center for fall treats and some historical items on display, historic coloring sheets for children and general discussion. In case of bad weather, the characters will give their history lesson at the center. An RSVP is requested with last name, number attending and email address.
