We’ve lost values of decency, respect

As Americans we seem to have gone overboard on sex and violence. We see it on TV, in movies, on the news and in everyday life. Whatever happened to decency and respect? Are we moving so fast that we have lost these values?

It now seems our priority in life is to be rude, angry, profane, greedy and self-serving.

In my 84 years, I have seen Americans at their best and sadly at their worst. I understand we can’t stop progress, but progress at what price?

Thomas Wolfe wrote “You can’t go home again,” but sometimes I wish we would rethink our civility and use common sense.
