Why or why not? This is a very complex issue. I don?t believe we have enough information to make an informed decision.Should the district be in the golf course business? If so, please explain the benefit. If not, please detail why. Should the district consider selling any of its holdings? One part of the FPDDC mission statement is to provide recreation for the citizens of DuPage County. Golf is just one of many recreational opportunities provided by the District, such as biking, fishing, archery, hiking, boating, picnicking, camping and many more. The golf courses are less than 2% of the land holdings. The existing golf courses provide recreational opportunities for many DuPage County residents. The District can not legally sell the land to any private owner. No, the District can not and should not sell its holdings unless there are exceptional circumstances.Comment on the forest preserve's current land acquisition policy: Too aggressive? Too passive? Just right? In 2007, the tax payers voted overwhelmingly to approve a bond referendum to purchase open space. Over the past several years, the District has been carefully and thoughtfully purchasing beautiful pieces of land for the citizens of DuPage County to enjoy. At this time, the money has almost been entirely spent and the focus of the Forest Preserve will change from purchasing land to improving the current holdings of the District. This field intentionally left blank.Candidate did not respond. This field intentionally left blank.Candidate did not respond.
