Last Fling’s Family Fun Land entertains all ages
The fun continues to multiply and expand each year in Last Fling’s Family Fun Land.
Meet a Disney star or take a pony ride. Check out some reptiles or create a masterpiece in the arts and crafts area.
The family-friendly confines offer smiles and good times Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1 to 3, and include children’s activities and games, as well as demonstrations and performances.
“It’s just a really good part of our events that families can enjoy, and it doesn’t really cost much,” said Courtney Brown, Last Fling’s public relations chairwoman.
An entertainment stage includes martial arts and tae kwon do demonstrations, performances by Kidz Kabaret, Irish dancers and Radio Disney, and shows by Cold Blooded Creatures and The Spoon Man.
Debby Ryan, star of the Disney Channel’s show “Jessie,” will meet and greet fans from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
All fans must have a wristband obtained at the Family Fun Land main gate entrance beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday. Fans may begin lining up for wristbands at 7 a.m. and must be present to obtain a wristband.
“We really want to emphasize that it’s free,” said Nicki Nash, who heads the Family Fun Land committee. “We have all kinds of free activities.”
New this year is the Great American Duck Races of New Mexico, several shows each day dedicated to mallard ducks that race down a water pond.
Activities for a charge include pony rides, train rides and some carnival games.
Family Fun Land hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday.
