Apple says Mountain Lion downloads top 3 million in four days

Apple Inc. said downloads of its Mountain Lion software exceeded three million in four days, making it the most successful operating system release in the company’s history.

Mountain Lion is the ninth major release of Apple’s desktop operating system and is available through the Mac App Store as an upgrade to Lion or Snow Leopard users for $19.99, the Cupertino, California-based company said in a statement posted on its website.
