White Sox scouting report

White Sox vs. Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park

TV: Comcast SportsNet Monday, Wednesday, Thursday; Channel 26 Tuesday

Radio: WSCR 670-AM

Pitching matchups: The White Sox’ Dylan Axelrod (1-2) vs. Aaron Cook (2-2) Monday; Philip Humber (3-4) vs. Jon Lester (5-6) Tuesday; TBA vs. TBA Wednesday; TBA vs. TBA Thursday. All games 6:10 p.m.

At a glance: With 2 wins in three games at Kansas City, the first-place White Sox are off to a solid start in the second half. But the injury bug has taken another bite out of the pitching staff, and Gavin Floyd was scratched from Tuesday’s start with soreness in his right elbow and forearm. Jose Quintana could pitch for the White Sox on Wednesday and Floyd could start the series finale. If not, the Sox would need a new starter Thursday. Humber also had elbow issues that landed him on the disabled list. The right-hander starts Tuesday for the first time since June 16. The White Sox lost three of four to Boston at home in late April. Kevin Youkilis makes his first trip back to Fenway since June 24, when he was traded from the Red Sox to the White Sox. Designated hitter Adam Dunn has homered in three straight games.

Next: Detroit Tigers, Friday-Sunday at Comerica Park
