Palatine Chamber to host Rockin’ the Blocks party July 28

Palatine residents don’t need to wait until Street Fest next month to get another taste of a summertime festival.

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce will put on the Rockin’ the Blocks community block party from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 28.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the BMO Harris Bank parking lot, located at the Brockway and Slade streets in downtown Palatine.

Rockin’ the Blocks will feature live entertainment by country band Smokin Gunz, Mustache Pete and an acoustic performance by Jason Picchiotti, lead singer of Twenty Over.

Brothers Ribs will provide a pig roast, and there will be food booths, a beer garden and other activities.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the chamber’s scholarship programs. Sponsors for the event include BMO Harris Bank, Weber-Stephen Products, Northrop Grumman, Lamplighter Inn and Palatine Bank & Trust.
