Addison man killed in Route 53 rollover
An Addison man was killed early this morning when an SUV in which he was riding rolled over on Route 53 near Glen Ellyn.
The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the single-vehicle crash, which occurred about 4:40 a.m. on Route 53, south of Butterfield Road.
Sheriff’s police said the Dodge Durango was traveling northbound on Route 53 when it rolled over at Arboretum Drive. The Addison man, who has not yet been identified publicly, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Route 53 was closed for several hours this morning between Butterfield and Park Boulevard, but has since reopened to traffic.
