Michelle Obama, NATO spouses to tour youth center
First lady Michelle Obama and the spouses of foreign leaders will tour a South Side Chicago youth center during the NATO summit.
The White House says on May 20 Obama and her guests will visit the Gary Comer Youth Center, which provides educational and extracurricular activities such as tutoring, college readiness courses, fitness and cooking programs.
Afterward, children’s dance, musical and theater groups will perform and guests will be served a private lunch prepared by Chef Paul Kahan and children from the youth center.
In the evening, Mrs. Obama will host a private dinner for NATO leaders’ spouses at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Fifty heads of state are expected to attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit to discuss international security issues, including the war in Afghanistan.
