Elgin man charged with public indecency

An Elgin man’s cellphone connected him to four cases of public indecency and exposure, police said.

Antonio Nevarez, 24, of the 600 block of Dover Court, has been charged with going up to the windows of homes in his neighborhood in the Summerhill subdivision near Elgin High School four times between March 23 and April 30 and exposing and fondling himself while watching the women and girls inside, police said.

Nevarez always fled before police arrived but on April 30 he dropped his phone as he was running away, police said. A short investigation led police to Nevarez, who admitted to all four instances of exposure, police said.

He has been charged with four misdemeanor offenses: one count of public indecency and three counts of sexual exploitation of a child because three of the victims were younger than 17, police said.

Nevarez is due in Cook County Court June 6 in Rolling Meadows.
