N. Ind. amusement park busy with summer hiring

MONTICELLO, Ind. — A northern Indiana amusement park is working to fill about 800 summer jobs before it opens for the season next month.

The Indiana Beach office was bursting with hundreds of potential employees Wednesday evening as the park held its third job fair this year. Park marketing director Sherry Vogel tells the Journal & Courier of Lafayette that it will probably have one more job fair to complete hiring ahead of opening day on May 12.

Vogel said the recent warm weather has allowed crews to get out earlier to prepare rides and attractions at the park along Lake Shafer near Monticello. The park doesn’t have any new rides this year, but it has some new vacation cabins and its hotel has undergone renovations.
