Civil War project is just the beginning

Thank you so very much for the excellent article and photos you have given our Civil War project here in the Village of Barrington Hills.

What we are doing as volunteers is very important for our local area as well as for the residents and history buffs of America. Giving this publicity to the reading public is such a gift and our VBH Beautification Committee is so appreciative!

There will be much more to our story as we gain permission to restore several cemeteries that contain soldiers and as we work with the Sons of the Revolution, Veterans of the Civil War, the American Legion, the Korean Church, the Barrington Area Historical Society, the Barrington Township and the Barrington Sesquescentennial Committee that has now formed. Four more years of exciting projects, progress and news within our community!

As our committee becomes more involved in a number of events and projects that pertain to the VBH, we realize our name is not reflective of what we are doing. In this 2012, our committee will be gaining a new name yet to be determined. For now: Thank you for being OUR newspaper!
