Sears Centre hosts bullriding tour Feb. 3-4

Professional rodeo in Chicago dates back many decades, and on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4, the Sears Centre Arena will host the next chapter in that tradition, America’s Premier Bullriding Series™ Professional Championship Bullriders.

More than 30 of the nation’s top riders will battle the toughest, rankest bulls in the world for the World Tour Finale VI.

Award-winning country duo Montgomery Gentry will entertain the crowd following the bull riding both nights.

Cody Monroe, Jason Tinsman, Chris Ganell, Luke McCoag, Brett Olmstead and others will attempt to tame — or at least make an 8-second ride — on the likes of Scaredy Cat (“The Baddest Outlaw Bull”), Code Red, Drop Zone and a corral of other buckin’ bulls.

Fans can have the free “PCB Experience” when the doors of the Sears Centre Arena open at 6 p.m. each night. The first 300 kids through the door get a free cowboy hat; and visitors can register for meet and greets with riders and Montgomery Gentry.

Montgomery Gentry, whose current single “Where I Come From” recently cracked the Top 20 of the national country charts, was nominated in the “Vocal Duo of the Year” category for the 2012 Country Music Awards. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are no strangers to the rodeo world.

The Windy City holds a special place in the hearts of bull riding fans, as the city was an integral part of the success of Bull Riders Only, the first bull riding organization, in 1993.

Bodacious, the most infamous bull in history, showed his emerging prowess in Chicago slamming rider after rider to the ground. He is the only bull in history that was forced into retirement because he bucked too hard and was considered too dangerous.
