Huntley library cardholders can enter free giveaway

To promote the new Freegal Downloadable Music Service, an expanding eBook collection, and library card signup, the Huntley Area Public Library will offer library cardholders a chance to win one of two Kindle Fires or an iPod Nano.

To enter for a chance to win, between now and Feb. 29 Huntley library cardholders can show their library card at the checkout desk to receive a drawing ticket.

Residents of the library district without a card can sign up for a free card by bringing proof of residency to the library. The Huntley Area Public Library Friends Foundation is sponsoring the Kindle Fire and iPod giveaway.

The drawings will be held as follows, and winners will be contacted by phone.

Ÿ Jan. 31: Kindle Fire

Ÿ Feb. 14: iPod Nano

Ÿ March 1: Kindle Fire

Entries are limited to one per cardholder and complete contest rules are available at www.huntleylibrary.org/drawing.

“The library has a growing eBook collection and a fantastic new music service, and we wanted to make sure residents knew about them while at the same time encouraging library card signup,” said library Director Patrick McDonald.

The new Freegal Music Service allows cardholders to download songs from the Sony Music catalog of artists. The best part, after downloading users keep the music.

The library’s eBook collection contains everything from current best-sellers to classics. eBooks are available through the library website at www.huntleylibrary.org/digital_books. Both services are free to cardholders.
