Fox Lake Library hosting student events

The Fox Lake District Library will host two events in coming weeks designed to entice participation from students in middle and high school.

On Tuesday, Dec. 13, the library at 255 E. Grand Ave. will host the new Classic Board Game Afternoon Club. The event is in the library meeting room on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 3 to 5 p.m.

The club is open to young adults in grades 6 through 12.

At the first meeting, participants can challenge themselves to playing the real estate game Monopoly or the crime-solving game Clue. Those who enjoy the first round can return Wednesday to try challenging others.

Classic Board Game Afternoon dates are Jan. 10 and 11, and Feb. 14 and 15.

The Pizza & Graphic Novel Club will also meet in the library’s meeting room from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 3. It is open to those in grades 7 through 12.

Young adults are asked to stop by the meeting room for pizza and a great discussion about the graphic novel of the month.

Participants are urged to sign up for the monthly event at the reference desk at the library, then pick up a copy of the latest graphic novel being discussed.

The Young Adult Pizza & Graphic Novel Club meets the first Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m.
