Lombard man charged in nightclub stabbing

A Lombard man is accused of stabbing another man following an argument at the Green Dolphin Street nightclub over the weekend in Chicago.

Thaddeus Macon, 27, of the 1300 block of Rebecca Road, faces one charge of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, Chicago Police Department spokesman officer Daniel O’Brien said.

Macon was arrested just before 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning, O’Brien said, after arguing with a 30-year-old man from Kenosha and stabbing him inside the club, which is on the 2200 block of North Ashland Ave. Police reports said Macon’s weapon was a “long, pointed rod” that pierced the victim in both the abdomen and arm.

“Macon was identified by the victim and he was held by nightclub security until police arrived,” O’Brien said.

The victim was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in Chicago in serious condition. O’Brien said his condition was unknown on Monday.

Macon also was wanted on a warrant issued nearly a year ago in DuPage County.

Police officers in Oakbrook Terrace pulled over Macon in the early morning hours of Nov. 13, 2010, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He later was charged with DUI and possession of cannabis, but missed a court appearance and the $10,000 warrant was issued on Dec. 21.

He was scheduled to appear Monday in Cook County bond court.
