BarlowGirl concert in Elgin to benefit food pantry

Submitted by The Hemmens

Celebrate the sounds of the season and help bring hope for the holidays to area families with “Home for Christmas,” a night of holiday music that will delight the whole family, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way in Elgin.

“Home for Christmas” features the Dove award-nominated band BarlowGirl with special guests, Elgin Children’s Chorus, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Christian Youth Theater and the Judson University Singers. Proceeds from the event go to fill Elgin’s food pantries, so they can bring smiles and warm holiday meals to those in need.

BarlowGirl has become a mainstay of Christian music in the nearly eight years since the Elgin-based sister trio released their first album. BarlowGirl has toured the world, selling over a million albums and has even been featured on NBC’s “Today Show.” The sisters have garnered 14 Gospel Music Association Dove Award nominations and claimed the longest running no. 1 single in Christian Radio Weekly’s chart history with their hit “I Need You to Love Me.”

Tickets are on sale now. Tickets for the Golden Circle are $50 and include preshow meet-and-greet with BarlowGirl. Premium tickets are $25, $15 for main floor, and $10 for balcony. For details, contact the Hemmens box office at (847) 931-5900 or visit www.hemmens.org.
