Palatine alumna featured on “My Fair Wedding”

Brides-to-be who’ve flipped through the plethora of magazines and shows dedicated solely to the stylish ways of saying “I do” are probably familiar with wedding guru David Tutera.

One newlywed with local roots got to experience his designs firsthand.

The wedding of Palatine High School alumna Jane Torgersen to actor Chad Goodwin will be featured in an upcoming episode of Tutera’s popular TV show, “My Fair Wedding.”

It will air at 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, on the Women’s Entertainment cable network.

The theme of the May 7, 2011, wedding was based on a trip the bride took last year with mother Kathleen Torgersen to Spain, Italy and Greece.

She fell in love with the villas in Tuscany, so Tutera recreated them at the Church Estate Vineyards in Malibu, Calif. Giant sunflowers, grape clusters and chandeliers highlighted the decor, while 120 guests enjoyed various pasta dishes.

Father of the bride Don Torgersen of Palatine escorted his daughter to the ceremony site on an evergreen knoll, where he presented the groom with a $50 buffalo head gold coin and told him to save it for the couple’s 50th anniversary.
