S. Barrington Park District launches Club Fusion

The South Barrington Park District launched a new interactive gaming center for kids called Club Fusion June 13 in the Community Center, 3 Tennis Club Lane, in South Barrington.

Club Fusion is the place where fitness and fun come together. Through the use of active video games, brain games, group games and more, Club Fusion will help keep kids fit and active all year long.

Club Fusion has been made possible through a grant received from the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD). IAPD sponsors the PowerPlay! grant program to help park districts provide positive beyond school programs for youth. These programs keep children safe in a supervised atmosphere with structured activities. According to IAPD, children who are involved in structured programs are less likely to use drugs, while also developing better conflict resolution and social skills, along with the ability to make better lifestyle choices regarding health and fitness.

Club Fusion at the South Barrington Club offers a changing mix of activities and equipment to keep kids busy and active at the club. The program offers interactive games for both Wii and PlayStation including fitness, sports, dancing, music and more. The PlayStation system includes two motion game bikes as well as commercial grade Dance Dance Revolution dance mats. Oversized board games, Ping-Pong, air hockey, bean bags and more round out the offerings. Equipment availability will rotate throughout the week, providing a changing selection to keep kids busy and active, without letting them get bored.

In addition to weekday drop in hours, additional programming will include Club Fusion Fitness Classes on Mondays, Kids Zumba on Tuesdays, and Play and Exercise for Active Kids (PEAK) sports programs on Thursdays.
