Within one of the quaintest neighborhoods of Arlington Heights, known as Ridge Park, sits a brick Georgian that has certainly stood the test of time. It now awaits for another young couple or single professional to add their name to its list of happy owners through the years.

Built in 1946, the home is located within minutes of Arlington Park track and sits only blocks from downtown Arlington Heights. The home has been recently renovated to include a library. It features hardwood floors and brightly-painted rooms, as well as charming window boxes outside, filled with flowers.

Listing agent Pam Carmichael provides greater detail:

What's the hidden gem in this house?

"The white shuttered bay window in the front room lends personality and charm to the entire main floor. The sun shines beautifully through its slats in mornings, yet it gives a cozy look in the evenings when the bottom two-thirds are closed for privacy."

What would the perfect buyer look like?

"Someone who wants to live in a traditional, cozy home that is within walking or biking distance of a great town's many shops and restaurants."

What surprises you about this house?

"The large bathroom with its huge linen closet is a great surprise. There may only be one bath in the house, but it is a generous one."

If this house were featured on TV show, which would it be?

"This home would be perfect for Dr. Addison Montgomery from ABC's 'Private Practice.' It features a formal dining room, large enough living room to entertain, and a guest room. There is also a pleasant patio from which you can admire the manicured backyard while you barbecue in the summer."

What's the coolest thing about living in this neighborhood?

"It is child-friendly and central to just about all daily needs. You can walk from it to most areas in Arlington Heights. For instance, it takes about 20 minutes to bike to the library, great restaurants, Jewel and Mariano's. And there are Starbucks in two directions."

What's one adjective you'd use to describe this house?

"Traditional. This home is a very classic Georgian that has been lucky enough to have owners who have kept its bones and face well maintained through the years."

Tell us about the landscaping.

"In addition to the mature trees, there is a riot of red tulips waving hello in the front flower bed, a trio of tea roses holding court in the south side flower bed, and a final burst of summer when the 'dinner plate dahlias' pop."
