Elgin museum explores world of mammmals

Curious about the natural world around you? Why not investigate the group humans belong to — mammals!

Test out your athletic prowess in “Mammal Olympics” at Elgin Public Museum and see how you match up against kangaroos and blue whales.

Find out what makes a mammal a mammal and discover some very interesting animals along the way, including the star-nosed mole and the long-eared jerboa.

Explore mammals through experiments and demonstrations at different stations set up throughout the museum.

This drop-in program will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 20, and costs $2 per person.

The museum is located in Elgin’s Lords Park at 225 Grand Blvd.

No registration is required. For information, contact the museum at (847) 741-6655 or epm@cityofelgin.org.
