Mundelein man charged with molesting girls, collecting child porn
A 67-year-old Mundelein man was indicted Wednesday on child molesting and possession of child pornography charges.
David Henderson, of the 200 block of N. Seymour Street, faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and possession of child pornography.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Mary Stanton said a 9-year-old girl from Wadsworth recently told her mother she had been inappropriately touched by Henderson several times during August.
Her mother contacted another woman from Lake Villa, who said she had been molested by Henderson when she was a minor and all parties went to Mundelein police.
The woman gave police a lewd video of herself she claimed Henderson had produced 15 years ago, Stanton said.
Police went to question Henderson about the complaints, Stanton said, and he voluntarily agreed to allow them to search his home computer and 10 portable hard drives.
Investigators discovered about 1,000 images of child pornography on the computer equipment and seized all the equipment as evidence, Stanton said.
Henderson was charged Nov. 13, and has since posted $50,000 in cash to be free from custody.
Stanton said the investigation into his activities is continuing and she urged anyone with information about Henderson to contact Mundelein police.
Henderson is scheduled to appear before Associate Judge Christopher Stride for arraignment Dec. 22.
