Video of Hartstein's Stone parody surfaces

You've seen the photos. Now, a short video has surfaced of Buffalo Grove Village President Elliott Hartstein's performance as Trustee Lisa Stone at a post-election party celebrating her recall from the board Tuesday night.

One day later, Hartstein issued an apology to Stone, his fellow board members and his family for his parody, saying he deeply regrets it, and confessing that while he believes it is best for the village to move on, his own "antics" will make doing that more difficult.

"I was just trying to be funny and cute and obviously it was an error in judgment on my part," Hartstein said. "I got caught up in the moment. It's hard to turn back the clock when you make a mistake."

Stone, reached last week, said she was shocked by the parody, and dismissed his apology as a politician trying to be politically correct after the fact.

"How could he not have the moral integrity at a moment like that," she said. "It's a very serious recall."
