Chicago Sky's Prince on All-Rookie Team

After giving up her senior year at Rutgers University to sharpen her basketball skills in Europe, Chicago Sky guard Epiphanny Prince completed her professional transition by being named to the 2010 WNBA All-Rookie Team on Tuesday.

Rookie center Tina Charles of the Connecticut Sun was named Rookie of the Year.

Prince, selected No. 4 overall in the 2010 WNBA Draft by the Sky, ranked third among rookies in scoring (9.8 ppg) and led first-year players in steals (1.6 spg) and total steals (55), placing her in the top six in the league in both.

Her 55 steals were also a Sky rookie record, and Prince ranked second on the team in assists (2.7 apg) and third in scoring.

Prince's scoring total of 334 points is the second-highest rookie total in franchise history.

Other 2010 WNBA All-Rookie team members include Charles, Minnesota Lynx guard-forward Monica Wright, New York Liberty guard Kalana Greene and Connecticut Sun forward Kelsey Griffin.

"It is a privilege to be included in this group of talented players," said Prince. "I just wanted to come in as a rookie and play as well as I could to help my team and I am happy that I was able to contribute in my first season and learn from some experienced players such as Dominique Canty and Jia Perkins. I look forward to coming back in 2011 to take everything I have learned as a rookie and produce even better results for my team."
