Naperville woman backs car into neighbor's house

A Naperville family escaped unharmed Tuesday evening when their neighbor's car crashed into the front of their house.

Rajarajeswari Babu of the 3700 block of Falkner Drive was backing out of her driveway about 6:30 p.m. when her Hyundai Elantra became stuck in reverse, police said. She continued straight across the street, drove over the lawn of the neighbor directly across the street and crashed into the front of the residence, police said.

There were three people home at the time, but no one was injured, Naperville Sgt. Gregg Bell said.

Bell said the crash damaged parts of the brick facade, but the house was still habitable.

Babu was cited for improper backing and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, police said.
