Your News: Bands announced for South Barrington Battle of the Bands

The South Barrington Park District and the South Barrington Community Foundation announced the bands performing in the South Barrington Battle of the Bands on Friday, August 13. Bands participating in the event will be divided into two categories. Division I, for band members ages 12 to 14, includes Race Against Time, The Brothers Sass and White Shadow.

Division II, for band members ages 15 to 18, includes Central Axis, Cook Street, and Last Avenue.

Doors open 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, and band performances will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the outdoor pool deck at the South Barrington Community Center, 3 Tennis Club Lane in South Barrington. In case of inclement weather the event will be moved indoors at the Community Center.

The overall winner of the Battle of the Bands will win the opportunity to play at a future event at the Arboretum of South Barrington, and the winning band in each age division will win a percentage of the proceeds from the event. The band with the largest number of audience members will also receive prizes. Admission to the event is $5 per person which includes one free concession item and a raffle ticket. Concessions and event T-shirts will be available for purchase as well.
