Wheeling Farmers Market in limbo

Looks like the Wheeling's Farmers Market is on hold again.

Bill Hein wanted to host the market on the former Wicks site along Dundee Road but withdrew the request at Monday's village board meeting.

The market was supposed to run from July 3 through Oct. 31 but after Hein received a couple memos from Wheeling's village manager and village attorney, he realized setting up the farmers market was more complicated than he thought.

"I was hoping for more of a partnership, but together we couldn't get it done," he said at the meeting.

Hein still hopes to open the market this summer and he said he will work with the park district to make it happen.
