Tea party members not just old fools

Many of the people that attended Naperville's tea party lived through and participated in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and believe it or not Desert Storm and the Iraq war. As a matter of fact some attendees are presently on active duty right now.

With this mix, I believe everyone can see that not everyone is old and retired. These people devoted a great portion of their lives, in fact the ones that were not in attendance sacrificed their lives for what? They did it to allow people such as Bill Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Huey Newton, Bobby Seales, Black Panthers and the Weatherman organizations to exercise their rights to our liberties, freedom and the right to assemble. I'm afraid they demonstrated this right in a very violent way. If the people that made the sacrifices necessary for them to question our government hadn't defended our freedoms those messages would not be a part of our history.

On the other hand, Martin Luther King organized people to exercised their right to assemble and demand the liberties and freedoms that all Americans enjoy. King did it in peaceful way, and it worked without the violence that was created and prolonged by people such as Ayers.

Some comments about the tea party makes many people think that they are nothing but old fools waving flags and signs looking for a fight because of taxes. Quite the contrary, they are old and young, male and female people that have lived the American way. Their liberties and freedoms, they feel, are at risk and may be lost.

Like Martin Luther King, they are assembling in a peaceful manner to protest Washington's complete disrespect of our forefathers, what they stood for, created and the results that have produced the greatest country in all of mankind.
