Wheeling Relay For Life kick off Feb. 24

Friends, neighbors and cancer survivors are coming together for an energizing celebration from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, with the program beginning 7 p.m., at the Wheeling Park District in Wheeling to kick off the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Wheeling. Anyone who wishes to form a team, volunteer to help with planning the event, or wants to hear more about this year's highlights is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Relay For Life is an overnight event to "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back." The event celebrates the lives of those who have had cancer, remembers loved ones lost to the disease and rallies individuals to fight back against a disease that takes too much. Teams raise funds, before and during the event, to fight cancer. Relay For Life of Wheeling will be held from 6 p.m. May 22, to 6 a.m. May 23, at Wheeling High School in Wheeling.
