Rostenkowski says he's 'troubled' by Blagojevich

Former U.S. Rep. Dan Rostenkowski says he finds the alleged behavior of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich "troubling."

Rostenkowski was a member of the U.S. House for more than 30 years until he was engulfed in a corruption scandal in 1994 that would later send him to federal prison for 17 months.

The former congressman writes in an article published on The Daily Beast Web site on Friday that on a personal level, he sympathizes with Blagojevich's family and "can uniquely understand their concerns about what comes next."

Rostenkowski called the governor's actions "a personally-beneficial auction to make policy and personnel decisions."

Blagojevich's first term in the U.S. House was in 1996. He held Rostenkowski's seat.
