Sky signs two guards for camp tryouts

The Chicago Sky has signed guards Nina Stone and Amanda Jackson to training camp contracts, head coach and general manager Steven Key announced today.

Stone, a 5-foot-7 guard, is a 2005 graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year after transferring from Wabash Valley Community College in Mt. Carmel, Ill. She was named a Kodak All-American first team selection after leading the Warriors to a 34-3 record her sophomore year.

The Indianapolis native has played pro basketball in Puerto Rico for two years.

Jackson, a 5-9 guard from Miami University in Ohio, averaged 21.6 points per game in college. She set 12 Miami records this past season and was a 2008 State Farm All-America Honorable Mention selection.

She was the second player in Mid-American Conference history to surpass 1,900 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 300 steals for her career.
