Village of Arlington Heights Senior Citizens Commission calls for nominations for the Kenneth Hood Senior Service Award

The village of Arlington Heights Senior Citizens Commission is proud to announce the call for nominations for the 16th annual Kenneth Hood Senior Service Award. Named in honor of the esteemed Dr. Kenneth Hood, whose legacy of selfless dedication to Arlington Heights' senior community inspires us all, this award celebrates individuals who exemplify outstanding commitment to serving older adults.

Past recipients of the Kenneth Hood Senior Service Award, including luminaries such as Steve Schultz, Jim Harbaugh, Mary Stitt and Terry McElroy, have left an indelible mark on the community through their unwavering devotion and innovative initiatives. Now, the Senior Citizens Commission invites the community to nominate individuals who continue this noble tradition of service and compassion.

Ideal nominees will have demonstrated a history of excellence in serving Arlington Heights' older adults, whether through pioneering programs, enriching activities, or simply by brightening the lives of seniors in meaningful ways. The commission seeks individuals who not only enhance the quality of life for our senior citizens but also embody a contagious enthusiasm for life itself.

Nominations for the Kenneth Hood Senior Service Award are open to all who volunteer within the village of Arlington Heights. Whether you know someone who fits the bill or wish to nominate yourself, the commission encourages you to submit your nominations online at 2024 Kenneth Hood Senior Service Award (jotform.com) or pick up a paper application at the Arlington Heights Senior Center.

While nominations are accepted year-round, the deadline for consideration for the 2024 award is June 15. Join in recognizing those who dedicate themselves to making Arlington Heights a vibrant and caring community for seniors.
