No injuries in Lake Co. garage fire

Fire broke out in a Round Lake Beach garage Thursday afternoon, but no one was injured. Firefighters were called to the 400 block of West Normandie Lane about 2 p.m. Thursday.

The homeowner escaped unharmed. The fire was under control within about 15 minutes and did not spread to the home.

Crews stayed on scene until about 4:30 p.m. and were assisted by Fox Lake. Capt. Pat Walker of the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District said there is extensive damage to the garage but he did not have an exact dollar amount.

The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
