Hoffman Estates man says friend driving car during fatal hit-and-run

A Hoffman Estates man says a friend was driving the Porsche that Florida authorities suspect was involved in a hit-and-run that killed two British businessmen.

Court records obtained by the South Florida Sun Sentinel show Ryan LeVin claims a friend was driving the car at the time of the accident in Fort Lauderdale last month.

A search warrant filed in Broward County court says Fort Lauderdale police want to find the friend and get a DNA sample to compare it to any genetic material found on the car's airbag.

LeVin's attorney Keith Seltzer says his client already was cooperating with police when officers chased the Porsche and lost it.

No arrests have been made in the Feb. 13 hit-and-run that killed Craig Lewis Elford, 39, and Kenneth Watkinson, 48.
